What You Will Learn

As parents, you are a huge part of your child’s development across all areas of learning and growth. The everyday moments you share with your child—playing, talking, exploring, and responding—are powerful opportunities for development.

In this mini course, we will explore why your role as a parent is so important, how to create an environment that supports learning, and simple ways to practice developmental skills during everyday routines at home.

This course is designed to help you feel more confident, informed, and supported as you guide your child’s development.

• How to support communication development and practice language skills at home

• How to support social-emotional development and help your child build important emotional skills

Why I Created This Course

I originally created this course several years ago while working closely with families in Early Intervention.

At the time, I kept noticing something important: many parents wanted to support their child’s development, but they weren’t always sure what to do during everyday moments at home.

Parents would often ask questions like:

“What should I be doing with my child?”
“How do I help them learn these skills?”
“Am I doing enough?”

The truth is, parents are already doing so many things that support development. Often it’s not about doing more — it’s about understanding how powerful the everyday moments you are already having with your child can be.

This course was created to help parents better understand how children develop and how simple interactions, play, and routines can support important developmental skills.

My hope is that by the end of this course, you will feel more confident, more informed, and more empowered in your role as your child’s most important teacher
